The Geneva Emotion and Music Laboratory is led by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, cognitive scientists, neurologists, engineers, and computer scientists from the Neuroscience of Emotion and Affective Dynamics Laboratory and specialists in music theory, composers, instrumentalists and singers from the Geneva University of Music (HEM). Our research focuses on the understanding of cognitive aspects as well as neural mechanisms of music production and perception, with a strong emphasis on musical emotions. Psychophysical and cognitive paradigms are combined with state of the art neuroimaging techniques such as EEG, EMG, fMRI, thermographic cameras, and Virtual Reality (BBL and Campus Biotech).
